How Yapper Works
Yapper uses on-device speech recognition engines (NVIDIA Parakeet and OpenAI Whisper) that run entirely on your Mac. All speech-to-text processing happens locally on your device. No internet connection is required for transcription, and no data is sent to any servers.
Optional AI Enhancement
If you choose to use the optional AI enhancement feature, you provide your own API key for services like Claude, GPT, Gemini, or Grok. When enabled, your transcribed text (not your voice) is sent to your chosen AI provider for enhancement. This is entirely optional and disabled by default. We never see or store these communications—they go directly from your Mac to your AI provider.
Purchase Information
When you purchase Yapper, the transaction is processed by our payment provider. We receive only the information necessary to provide you with the license: your email address and purchase confirmation. We don't have access to your payment details.
Analytics
Yapper does not include any analytics or tracking software. We don't know how often you use the app, what features you use, or anything else about your usage patterns.
